The Morphology of Deja Vu

With this article, I set out to find ways to calibrate, analyze, or otherwise get a handle on a Deja Vu. I propose that time crystals, and their manifold fractal topos, exist in diagetic time. Thus, deja vu.

I have previously written on the tick and metronome and structure of synchronicity. I think that synchronicities are quite different from deva-ju, because of what I think of as ‘structural differences.’ Namely, Synchronicity is event-based, and Deja Vu is a continuum period. While the above-linked article on synchronicity addresses many of these event-based aspects, this article will consider some continuum aspects of Deja Vu.

§Multiplicities

I the spirit of ‘multiverse’ models, perhaps a deja vu is someone sharing a similar life path as another alternative reality. But that doesn’t mean that we need to make the same decision as that other reality/possibility (alignment / accordance), nor switch places with it (‘choice theory’).

This or related models all afford the notion that Feynman-diagram-style notations have descriptive power regarding the options available to one in a deja-vu stream of time. This conception of deja vu returns us to the ‘moment’ notion of it, encapsulating all variants within the scope of when the deja vu dimensions are coincident with actions taken, and when they are no longer coincident. Many assumptions exist here, already, but they give us a basis to consider facets of the model. We can also ask questions, such as ‘How does one figure out which Feynman diagram they’re in?’

§Feelings Across Time

One of the interesting questions regards if an emotion comes attached to one’s deja vu. Will we feel a certain way about a future time, and the course of actions and outcomes that will result in those experiences? Would a ‘bad feeling’ or a ‘good one’ transcend time?

Deja vu need not always relate to a warning, as “precognition” often is said to pertain. It can be seeing any future I’m about to live – perhaps inevitably, or with certain parts immutable and other parts indeterminant. It can lead us to think about avoiding a facet our timeline, or situation, through very slight change(s) — while still working with a certain pivotal inevitability of futures that we are ‘too close to avoid.’

Does this make emotional transactions an ‘ethical machine’, a ‘gom jabbar of time’? Which things may change, and by which liberties? In a moment, how can we ‘calculate’ the paths? Is our temperament the calculator — and thereby how much control do we have to choice-fully change our nature?

§Directionality, by Metaphor

In dreams I know the cardinal directionality of the spaces I’m in. Even when directionality has not seemed like a thing, perhaps because of abstraction or a labyrinthine space, it turns out that I can understand the direction (“have a sense” of it), and from that, begin to decode the metaphors of the space. As I situate the elements of the dream within the framework of waking reality, I have a baseline against which to contrast the exceptional constructions of the dream space.

I.E. this is unlike ‘telepathy’ (and related knowings), which span Space. Similarly, telepathic bridging makes space less-or-non-existent, while the sense of direction has meaning. Traveling in directions have outcomes that we relate with emotionally. Consider the way that many indigenous traditions associate very emotionally-driven topics with each direction.

  • The South, where reunion and connection happen.
  • The West, where things go to transform (and implicitly die).
  • The North, where challenges are faced and integrated.
  • The East, wherefrom comes renewal and the reward of courage.

§Transactions of Emotion, Resonance

So I think that emotion is one of the dimensions for decoding precognition, déjà vu, and related phenomenon that spans time.

A natural extension is to ask if transferability of commutability occurs with emotions and atemporality:

  • If we feel ‘the future’ a certain way, does that same feeling connect us with the way that we will choose to experience the outcomes?
  • Do we feel the emotions across the entire frustum of the future, and move toward or away from each like landmarks in a terrain?
  • Do we make that movement by choose the emotional relationship we want, and that future manifests?
  • Do limited dimensions of emotional understanding, and resonance, occur commensurate with limited scopes of time and outcomes. E.G. is the the origin of the euphemism “no rest for the wicked”?

Procrastination

“In the case of procrastination, we have to find a better reward than avoidance — one that can relieve our challenging feelings in the present moment without causing harm to our future selves. The difficulty with breaking the addiction to procrastination in particular is that there is an infinite number of potential substitute actions that would still be forms of procrastination”

“Dr. Sirois found that procrastinators tend to have high stress and low self-compassion, suggesting that self-compassion provides “a buffer against negative reactions to self-relevant events.””

curatives: Cultivate curiosity. model actions.

Learning pains: 2002-09-13-learning-pains.md

maybe procrastination is a kind of future-sense that attempts to correct outcomes at the end of a causality ‘frustrum/penumbra’ perfection seeking, or the absence of novelty?

§Emotional Memory

While this is a compelling model, no reoccurring body of stories has been found that speaks to it. Yet, can we speculate and hedge the question ‘What is the origin of Art?’ Does a ‘sensitive’ person relate with a mired, deep, feeling ‘in the present,’ and see life through the outcome that is the rendering of something that is the embodied manifestation of it?

Deja vu could be like memory, in that sense. A unique or familiar smell, for example, triggers vivid memories of what you associate that smell with. Consider that deja vu touches future memory, as well as past. Memory anchors us, and our development, and is often the focus of psychological healing and transformation as we change our relationship to remembered events. Certain mystical traditions, such as in Buddhism and Scientology, give attention to changing the relationship with memories that exist far outside of the timeframe of a person’s life.

§A Story

I had been seeing a cycle of storms growing, and wondered how intense they were, when immerse in them. The one day, one brewed up before twilight. As it intensified I was struck by the desire to be out in it.

Living with my parents at the time, I had to move swiftly to avoid the distraction of their censure (if not outright forbidding). When I got to the door to go out, I was struck by an imperative and specific vision, almost as clear as having heard spoken to me the sentence “take the largest umbrella to protect you from the tree falling on you. When you hear it happen, run.”

Without hesitating I took that umbrella and went swiftly. We lived in the woods and had a long driveway. As I walk I was mixed with the sense of the layers of the storm, and other beautiful things about it, all the while suppressing any meditation on the imperative I’d realized. Though it remained in my awareness always seeking attention, I immersed myself in the joy of the alacrity, and the wonders of the storm.

Once I reached the roadside, I decided to turn and go back. As I went, all remained the same until I heard a boom of thunder and lightning, a pause, and a huge crack. Remaining fully immersed I immediately ran. As I did I began to hear the boughs crashing through the trees around me. Not stopping, I kept running and the branches crashed on my umbrella and tearing it out of my hands.

All I had left was the main rod of the umbrella and a few arms of it. Behind me was the entire top of the large tree (~60ft?), up from mid-trunk. It had fallen directly on me, and running was the only thing that allowed just the canopy branches to hit around me, and the umbrella to take the impact.

I realized that the correct state of being was to be in loving witness of a kind of communion (rather than even ‘thankfulness’). I walked home, where naturally my story was as complex to accept as it is to you.

§Souls’ Prerogative

If you consider the idea that our souls chose the life we have for a reason, there could be specific moments in which our souls are transcending the material to ‘send’ messages. The ‘messages’ would actually exist as realizations. The concept of ‘messages’ acts as a device to trigger our listening and recognition.

Is a soul beyond time? Skipping a classic philosophical approach to the nature of Soul, a statistical and syncretic summary does involve cross-time phenomena: reincarnation, soulmates, twin flames, ‘owing the reaper,’ fate, luck — all occurrences that operate outside a classical definition of time.

Maybe ‘common sense’ is a variation of the deep truth that exist in all people, like a connection to how we return to knowing in the afterlife. Maybe this is the informational conduit from the afterlife calling us to come faster to the afterlife. Is there a connection between common sense and thanateros?

This is how death can be a mercy, a kindness. Death always exists simultaneously with your life, it’s always communicating with you, it helps for you to remember who/what you are and where you came from and where you will return. It’s good to remember this.

the kindness of revelation

This “law of conservation of mystery“ is an interesting idea for a constant. Dr. Mossbridge validates this, and has related concepts in her interesting book, The Premonition Code. If there is a system at work in the soul’s mechanics around deja vu, the notion that mystery remaining constant is a compelling and potentially testable design.

§Wishes and Djinns

Indeed, Mystery may act as a kind of tool by which we change certain outcomes in exchange for complexifying others. At an academy in 2009, members of the International Consciousness Research Laboratories (ICRL) proposed the existence of a ‘conservation of mystery’ principle. The notion of a ‘conservation of mystery’ followed with the conservation of information despite entropy of a black hole. Some experimentation on CoI does quantum transforms to ‘recapture’ information that would be ‘present but lost’ in heat/entropy

The ICRL discussion of a corollary ‘conservation of mystery’ idea sought to account for the modeling of consciousness and information in the universal whole. Mystery was modeled in two parts, ineffable mystery, and (re)discovery. The latter topic covers how consciousness encodes into the background space foam/fabric/field, and in what mechanics it becomes re-accessible. Just as Samal, Pati, and Kumar show this in quantum information domains, we consider the recapture of information by a certain ‘kind’ and ‘number’ of transforms that are relative to the domain of consciousness. These could be ‘different scales’ of things, perhaps based on the nested and fractal nature of mind — from birth/death/reincarnation, to memetics, to transcendental meditation, to politiking/leadership, to invention/art, etc.

Here we can now see an analogue to the fable of the djinn that grants wishes. The essential moral of these stories being that the wisher is granted the scenario stated, while that scenario is adorned with unspecified additions and variations that challenge the hubris (fixed mind) of the wisher.

If deja vu is afforded any of the mechanics we consider here, are those mechanics also governed by some djinn-like conservation of mystery?

§Archetypes and the Understanding of Forms

Listening to Jason Louv on the Duncan Trussell Family Hour:

“As people get deeper into these practices and start to experience synchronicity.”

(ed: and i would argue deja vu, too)

“What’s actually happening is that the messages are going to and from the different that that the external is part of you. So yeah it seems like its talking to you cause it is you. Yeah it seems like weird stuff happens when you focus on it. It is you.”

Another consideration is that deja vu experience is us understanding our innately extrasensory awareness through a ‘device’ of an archetypal messenger, or archetypal relationships realized in the deja vu.

We could consider the same for all contact with entities — channeling, visages, spirits, deceased, etc. In this manner, when our subconscious interprets, or ‘gives us’, information it does so through the recognition of an archetypal messenger. Some communities would call this a communication by the higher self, oversoul, etc.

Conservatively, we can argue that there is not one type of thing going on. In addition to a ‘higher self’ there can also be other forms of entities, which communicate with us, through us, etc. For the sake of the argument, let us consider that we experience different kinds of non-self entities specifically related to certain expansions of the the senses. Like learning from different gurus or different cultures. In this way, certain mechanics of a deja vu would pertain with certain kind of these non-self embodied communications. Later, when we have enough data about our experiences with certain mechanisms of deja vu, we can look to detangle whether these are ‘communications’ with self, or non-self.

§Mechanics

Since we introduce the idea that classical recognitions of time may be limited, what new concepts are we dealing with?

In fact, deja vu isn’t the only phenomenon when considering the structure of time.

§Synchronictiy

Tick-toks in a timeless clock I like to think about what is the clock-face for the synchronicity clock. How many hands / complications, and what are they?

§Quantum Zeno

Perhaps that’s the idea behind being a celebrity … they are making use of quantum zeno to slow down their quantum decay.

Asimov’s psychohistorical device, the Prime Radiant.

§Hysteresis

Does consciousness participate in an effect of hysteresis, as part of the deja vu mechanics?

Could the real lesson of the Mandela effect happening reside withing scenarios of meso-effect decision, impact, and controversy? E.G. that we tried the “keep apartheid going” route, and that timeline collapsed for whatever reason, and here we are in the “get along or else your timeline collapses and you revert back to a further save point” universe.

This need not even exist as an explicit multivers of parallel timelines. Rather its mechanism acting out of the flux of consciousness filling the options of a time crystal. The space of flux laying ground for the emergence of an embodied lived narrative, where consciousness dreams itself awake and asleep across the frustrum of choices and outcomes.

i’m wondering that the other timelines are literally our dreams NewAlexandria 2 minutes ago walking the dreamworld is walking the terrain of consciousness and time-crystal Zip1 1 minute ago do you mean dreams literally or as a concept of what we wish for? NewAlexandria < 1 minute ago Dreams literally. We can each wake up in any of the other spaces the dreamworld touches. If enough people wake up there at a critical inflection point, it becomes ‘the past’ as that time crystal moves out of phase. (edited) NewAlexandria < 1 minute ago and all of life ‘is but a dream’

I wonder if deja vu is the experience of quantum erasure before/as it happens

all of this still seems like a subset of the idea that deja vu is quantum erasure ‘in situ’ https://www.quantamagazine.org/how-space-and-time-could-be-a-quantum-error-correcting-code-20190103/

Here is the take-home version of the quantum erasure experiment.

I look at it the same way, especially because the multiverse theory appeals to me on an astral level more than a physical one. They are opportunities to align fragmented timelines to accelerate a coherent evolutionary process. (edited)

So each time I have a deja vu, it is a level up in a way. Another version of me integrating. And if I follow the synchs and engage in certain practices, I’m able to contain more of my essence into a single vessel. Thus becoming more integrated, and a stronger axis mundi.

deja vu hits me as I’m doing something and I get this dragging sensation as the movements line up and then usually I’m struck with the memory or the previous encounter with the scenario. Synchronicity has a different tone, they feel like clear communication and usually are more impactful

synchronicity is event based, and deja Vu is a continuum period

§The Lived Experience

Let us hypothetically state that I am integrating fragmented version of myself back into a unified self, and that I do so at a higher rate of integration than my peers. That would mean that when I interact with someone, I will interact with several different fragments of them, that are spread over different timelines. Each time I talk to my wife, she is a collection of different selves, who are then split offand go on separate adventures, to then re-merge to do the interaction with me at the dinner table. She would not really be the person I experience, but only a collection of timelines that are coincide with my current timeline collection.

Incidentally, these notions are not not wholey dissimilar to the fractionalized-whole-self that Aztecs described with filimentation of teotl (‘universal being’) into the body. We might suggestion that in the ancient Chinese model, ch’i, the land, fung shui, and the body, also bear an isostructure of these relations.

A sacred and reverant relationship to one’s accordance, to this vital woodgrain of life, has precedent in sacred contexts. From what I know of Aztec and Totlec praxis, there would be a prescribed flow, based on the static structure of the stars and ground (citystate); The cycle of rains (Ha’ab) would modify this, or rather may modify the way the tableau was overlaid with the gestation cycles (Tzolkin). Then the divinations, oracular receipts, an personal relationship with teotl(s) would further color an individual’s practice. I think that the Aztec bloodletting was like following a path-discovered; the blood was a river and upon its banks flowed the river of teotl to which one was ascribed; violation this (a ‘torah’ of the Aztecs) would profane the life and weaken all the earth. To take up the spines was to take death’s hand and ensure life.

and then the opposite is true as well. So I would merge and split off different versions of myself constantly, to maintain coherent timelines for other people. And this clearly wouldn’t work. Thus there has to be an objective reality. Which is the external, physical universe.

but people do see themselves sometimes; doing different things, and experiencing those consequences. I too have seen the outcome of ‘other selves that are not other’

Dreams are just normal consciousness with more DMT

Indeed, those moments of deja vu and synchronicity may just act as triggers to remind us to wake within the eternal dream.

deja vu of dreams about deja vu

“I think we existed between the refresh rate of the universe for a Planck second” -drex. Conspansion could be the lived-experience of that universal rate of re-entanglement (‘sync’).

The Expansion aspect is still quite real; as it is the contrapose of the reduction of possibility that occurs in the ‘time continuum’. I understood that real-ness to be the expansion of semantics (ideas about ‘the future’) because of the conjoined complexity-of-symbols that come from the inductive-unification of ‘the past’

From CTMU, these axioms:

  • Metaphysical Autology Principle (associated with closure), or MAP
  • Mind Equals Reality Principle (associated with comprehensiveness), or M=R
  • Multiplex Unity Principle (associated with consistency), or MU

In a reported LSD trip, someone realized a deja vu from a dream, which centered on the place they were in at that moment. The psychonaut attempted to enter it, as was overcome by the lose of a sense-of-place and self-context. If this was a general lose of self-referentiality, ‘robustly’, then it could demonstrate an experienced-aberration in the autology axiom of the CTMU.

so / but, i do not see anything in [heartmath manifestation protocol] about the multiplicity topic of deja-vu. The heartmath text here relates to manifestation that is understood to be ‘future’, where as deja vu postulates an a-priori understanding of more than one future’. I have to squint lots, to get those to link up. ? too much

also i’m nonplussed at them only modeling physical+emotional. feels like 2 steps when there is more. Maybe relationship is the next? whether you consciously have people with you in said manifestation, or not, you carry with you the love of those you know & who love you.

then maybe the are more steps with the consequence and ‘operations’ of manifesting in relationship to/with them. E.G. that is different than you imagining your own space, and your own emotionality bc of that space

the unification of love and fear is think is very relevant and meaningful on this one. I think it is a formation of a loop in time. it does not conform to the ‘open-endedness’ of conspansion and other ‘pure’ ideas of time and evolution. Osho even here uses the term ‘knots’ to describe this! Which is more-correct. A loop is simply one topology of knot.

deja vu could be a classic “a feeling of having already experienced the present situation”, often delivered by dream or vision prior to the event right? So their intent is to “experience a desired present situation” prior to the event. A kind of an inversion.

similarly maybe the deja vu is the opportunity for the flip of a thing we did experience. Related: in the thread i started a month ago on this, when the deju vu happened for me i knew i was sitting in a place where I could do something that would change outcomes — like something ‘different’ could happen ‘this time’.

§Adjustment and Invention

To Osho’s point about man and cockroaches can perform self-adjustment. ‘Quantum Erasure’ parallel also suggests changes. In the video, Osho associates this moment (love, and fear) with the “knots in the stomach” … and maybe the butterflys in the stomach, too?

  • i think different emotions have different shapes of entanglement. These are all documented in the atlas of knot topologies
  • and i think they are each of the possible molecule configurations
  • which are homologous to relationships between people
  • teams, lovers, families, conflicts,

Osho says that “Death of the mind” is the removal of the knot’s indeterminacies (‘fears’), and that action of ending the knot/loop is an act of Claiming.

§In reflecting on invention, and the way novelty / a discovery is found:

An individual can solely manifest these things. A collaborator, a dyad/pair, can do this as well. I’ve seen various ‘methods’ for these dyads, and i know some vipassana systems name such methods. Whether having ‘an assistant’ or ‘peers’, the process of interrogation changes from one person to the other, in service of the evolution/raising of an idea. The expression of ‘two heads better than one’ comes here, as the thinking process involves a practice of shared thinking. It may work as a pool of thinking processes, donated via resonance [on multiple facets/dimensions of the processes involved].

Without selflessness, one of the people involved can feel upset at the role of the other, usually in the form of how the discovery is announced, named – akin to the ‘first name’ on a research paper. These fears are a knotwork.

§The Tzolkin: Fractal Time

We haven’t tried to yet put all this in the context of the Tzolkin. If all of the discussion about deja vu has been about topology, then we can liken the fractal structure of the tzolkin to the cohomologous ‘root’ to these topos of our fate.

The gnosis of the Tzolkin; fractal time, may present a superposition of many deva-vus. The harmonics of the fractals emerging some of these deja vu moments, or playing a role in constructing the topos upon which the deja vu(s) unfolds and also the topos of the possible resolution. i.e. that we could imagine ‘switching’ the parts and outcomes of one deja vu for another, as long as it is within the ‘superstructure’ of its part of fractal time / the tzolkin.

“Time is the emergence of order amidst chaos and despite death. Time goads me on as it gnaws into the future. Time is the soul” — M. Segall, Time and Experience.

§Time Crystals

If time travel were possible, would there be any difference in the time/distance of moving forward in time vs moving back in time ? There could be - based on the amount of involvement that others have had with the aspects of the timeline intended to change. The more people that were, or will be, involved then the harder it is to travel / change things.

it seems that time is always crystalizing, getting less fuzzy (more possibilities) and more clear / sure (less possibilities). This crystalization does not seem to be a future-facing direction, but includes the past as well. So it could then be that the Now is a central node in a ‘crystal’ (time crystal) that is a [moving] envelope, or bubble, encompassing what we think of as past and future.

The structure of pathways / lattice within that crystal (it’s topology) spans ‘future’ and ‘past’, linking them in causality

Likewise, it could thereby be taken that Redemption is a mechanism that utilizes consciousness and memory to form / change-the-form-of time crystals of a very large size. e.g. spanning ‘far back’. Farther than the ‘typical’ crystal/bubble that encompasses the Now

I think the event-horizon and accretion concepts could be specifically useful to a timecrystal. The crystal is a network of optionality/choices that can happen, which shifts continuously as things occur (future<>past). What occurs has a root (one root?) in the information that emerges from the Now and our decisions in the Now. That ‘information’ would likely be, or change, the topology of the crystal. That sounds like the accretion mechanism

Again, per the hysteresis concept, I’m wondering that the other timelines are literally our dreams. Walking the dreamworld is walking the terrain of consciousness and time-crystal. Our dreams literally.

We can each wake up in any of the other spaces the dreamworld touches. If enough people wake up there at a critical inflection point, it becomes ‘the past’ as that time crystal moves out of phase. … and thus all of life ‘is but a dream’.
